Explore the Difference
Preschool Teacher's Classroom
Preschool
Our preschool classroom is designed for children ages 2.9 - 5 years old. A mixed age classroom reduces the number of transitions children and parents experience. This model also gives children the time they need to acquire and master preschool skills without the pressure of “getting ready.” Providing for children's needs in the moment will help them develop the confidence needed to overcome any challenge.
Children in the preschool classroom are provided with lessons and materials that encourage them to inquire and experiment. They are also encouraged to explore and express their emotions as they learn to work cooperatively with their peers.
Independent Exploration
Reading Nook
At Curiosity First educators create a literacy rich environment. Children have access to books in a variety of languages that feature children and families from all over the world.
Building & Construction
Children are presented with a variety of building materials. These activities teach young children foundational math and engineering skills.
Safe Spaces
Our Safe Space provides children with an area to take a break from playing with friends and regroup. Children are encouraged to be mindful of their emotions and decide when they need time to themselves.
Science & Technology
Preschoolers at Curiosity First independently explore tools and materials that encourage prediction, experimentation, and creative thinking.
Dramatic Play
Also known as "House Keeping," this area is one of the most popular places in a preschool classroom. Our dramatic play area will include costumes and props that can be used to create an endless number of pretend play scenarios.
Infant & Toddler Classroom
Infant & Toddler Care
This large space will support the needs of 8 children, ages 0 - 33 months old. Our young learners are encouraged to move and explore their environment . They are supported by highly qualified educators who implement the High Scope Infant/Toddler curriculum developed just for them. Our child-center approach creates an environment in which young learners are able to eat and sleep according to their needs.
Multi- Aged Classrooms
Like the preschoolers, our infants and toddlers develop secure bonds with their educators over multiple years. These bonds give children in our program the confidence they need to take risks and independently explore their interests.
Gross Motor Development
Infants and toddlers are very active and Curiosity First will provide them will all the space and materials they need to develop their large muscles. Educators encourage young learners to engage in Gross Motor activities like walking, rolling, kicking, climbing, and sitting up throughout the day.
Cognitive Development
Children build an understanding of the world through play and action. Infants and toddlers have access to a variety of hands-on engaging materials. Children are given space to experiment with the items they chose. This approach to learning puts the child at the center of their learning, not the teacher.
